READING SAMARITANS

Talk to us any time you like, in your own way, and off the record – about whatever’s getting to you. You don’t have to be suicidal - please don’t suffer alone.

** We know a lot about what can help you through tough times. We can help you explore your options, understand your problems better, or just be there to listen. It doesn’t matter who you are, how you feel, or what has happened. If you feel that things are getting to you, get in touch.

** We’re there for people when they need us, which could be any time of day or night. People talk to us for as long as they like, as many times as they like. We don't rush, interrupt or push anyone out of the door. We let people lead the conversation at their own pace.

** There's no waiting lists, and no assessments, no records. We don’t pass on what people tell us. Not even the name of someone that calls us. For some, we’re the only place they can turn to without fear of repercussions. For others that might worry about burdening friends or family, we offer a safe place to turn.

** We'll talk about difficult issues, and we’re not afraid to go into deep and difficult areas. Sometimes just having the acceptance from someone that what they say won’t be judged is enough to help people open up, and is such a relief to them.

** We've been supporting people in the local community and beyond since 1962. Last year we answered more than 40,000 calls for help and we're always looking for more volunteers to join our team.

GAM-ANON

Gam-Anon is a fellowship for the families of compulsive gamblers. It is founded on spiritual principals. If you are seeking a solution for living with this problem, we like to feel that we understand, as perhaps few can. We too are familiar with worry and sleepless nights and promises made only to be broken. Our thinking had become confused and unreasonable. Gam-Anon can offer you a new way of life.
