Taekwondo incorporates a range of elements stemming from traditional, sporting and self-defence applications, as well as the sophisticated kicking techniques for which it is famed. It is a challenging, worthwhile and satisfying pursuit. This friendly club in central Reading (open from January 2006) offers instruction by a highly-qualified 5th Dan Master and a female 2nd Dan. Through the British Taekwondo Control Board (BTCB), members are insured by the British Taekwondo Council (BTC) and are affiliated to the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) as well as Olympic organisations. Few other clubs in Berkshire offer Olympic-style taekwondo. All welcome. Free trial lesson. Wednesdays 8–10 pm and Fridays 6.15–7.45 pm.
