THE WATERMILL - WEST BERKSHIRE PLAYHOUSE, NEWBURY

They said it was... unstageable.  They said it was... unachievable.  They said it was... impossible in today’s financial climate.  But we’re doing it anyway! From the Olivier and Tony award-winning adaptor and producers of The West End, Broadway and Global sensation The 39 Steps. The Watermill is overawed to present an unbelievably spectacular and never-before seen stage version of the novel by General ‘Lew’ Wallace. Almost certainly the greatest book ever penned...  Experts say no book has ever been so widely read...In true theatrical, live 3-D with genuine smellorama! Performed on stage for the first time ever with a maximum of four actors playing all twelve thousand and fifty-nine characters!

19/07/2012 to 21/07/2012 READING REAL ALE AND JAZZ FESTIVAL 2012

Reading Real Ale and Jazz Festival are very proud to be supporting Reading Hockey Club who will be cheering on 9 of their members who are representing GB in the 2012 Olympic Games. This is more than any other Hockey Club in the UK. This year marks the 25th Anniversary of the festival which is the primary fund raising event for the club. As like every other year it is organised and run by volunteers. All the money raised will go to help with initiatives such as maintaining their water based pitch, plans for two new pitches and supporting their Olympians & Colts development programmes. Despite the lack of a British summer, Reading is showing its great support for the Reading Real Ale and Jazz Festival with tickets sales already exceeding 2012. Come rain or shine festival goers will be guaranteed a swinging time as this is one of the only festivals locally that is fully undercover offering visitors a dry night of great ale and great music. Visitors also don’t need to worry about driving as it is only a short walk from Reading train station. For those bringing cars there is ample parking which doesn’t involved being towed by a tractor!
